On the banks of Lake Placid in the North Woods, this arts and crafts alpine-style lodge is 3.6 miles from Lake Placid Village and 3.3 miles from the Olympic Speed Skating Oval.
The individual rooms and cabins, some with lake views, have Craftsman-style decor with stone fireplaces, including features such as 4-poster beds handcrafted from tree branches.
Dining options include a gourmet restaurant and a pub offering an all-day menu. Snowshoes and cross-country skis are complimentary in winter, and in summer there are boat tours on a mahogany Hacker-Craft or pontoon boat. Children age 12 and under are allowed with restrictions.
